WHAT IS THE HOMEBUILDING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM?

An integrated construction and certification program where participants gain a Certificate in Applied Homebuilding Skills during a construction or renovation project. Linked with the Construction Craft Worker Program from Skilled Trades BC.

HOW DOES THE HOMEBUILDING CERTIFICATE WORK?

1. A project in the community is selected
2. We recruit capable, interested persons from the community who want to work in the construction, renovation or building maintenance trades. 3. The training is practical, applied learning delivered during the completion of the project
4. Training includes 20% building sciences classroom instruction

WHAT DO PROJECTS LOOK LIKE?

Any qualified construction or renovation project that lasts a minimum 20 weeks and includes 6 core curriculum components.

THE HOME BUILDING CERTIFICATE INCLUDES

Full time, insured employment for participants
Daily mentorship and training from a Master
Craftsman as they work on the project
College instruction and certification
